Construction Birthday Party

My boys are 2! We had a party for their first birthday, but we kept the celebration small this year. We only had a few people over, but of course I wanted to decorate as if we were having a big party. I couldn't help it! They are very into dump trucks, excavators, and tractors right now, so it just felt right to have a construction themed party. Most of the decor was purchased from Amazon. They had a lot of cute construction themed stuff, I had to keep reminding myself WE'RE KEEPING IT SIMPLE. So, here is a simple, easy to throw together construction birthday party.

On the food table I did a cloth road/racetrack runner on top of a black tablecloth. I used streamers for the backdrop and made a simple balloon garland. We used this digger as decor for the food table. For the mantle, I used these orange cones and made a banner using streamers. I made the barrier out of foam board and orange duct tape.

My sister did an amazing job on the cake! She happens to be a baker, but I think anyone could recreate it! Just cover it in brown icing and added crushed Oreos and an excavator/bulldozer/dump truck on top.

I made this sensory bin for the boys to play with. I've seen it done using an inflatable baby pool which would have been super fun, but this container worked just fine and the boys loved it. I filled it with sand, rocks, and construction vehicles.

We had so much fun celebrating our two year olds! I hope this gives you some inspiration for your next party!
